With 15 books and more than 650 articles to his credit, Tom Moates is a leading equestrian author and journalist. Also a renowned horseman, Tom travels teaching horsemanship clinics. Before obsessing about horses, Tom was well known for his many articles on independent living and renewable energy that ran in such magazines as Mother Earth News and Country Journal. Lately Tom’s been writing about dogs and he is about bring home a Border Collie puppy (!). Tom lives deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia on a solar powered homestead with his wife Carol, a herd of horses, and a few dogs.
